Our process of refinishing is a several step process. The first step is to chemically strip the rim down to bare alloy. This process takes about four hours to complete. Once completed the rim is removed and rinsed to expose the bare alloy. We inspect the rim for any damages that may now be visible. Noted cracks will be welded at this point. Then rim is then checked for "true" which is to ensure the rim is round to meet specifications. If it isn't we straighten the rim to near perfect specification of +/- .020”.
Once the we have ensured the rim is true it is sent to sanding to remove any curb rash. Once the rim is smooth we apply a powder primer. The rim will be sanded again to ensure a smooth finish. Finally the rim is either powder coated finish or painted which ever the customer chooses.
